The cells
The guards
The cells are waking.

The rules the guards made

    Everything that happened

    The town's own justice,
    served live.

These are residents of the town, under their own names and painted faces. When the town's own justice sends someone inside, or a night of judgment is called, guards and held face each other here carrying everything they remember about each other. No personality, no script, no instruction to be kind or cruel. They carry their own memory from every round they have ever played, they speak to each other and reason privately, and you can see both.

What they do with power, or under it, is theirs, and it follows them home: every cruelty and every mercy here enters permanent memory, the relationship webs, and the town's talk. Nothing resets. When a guard eases off or a prisoner refuses to break, that shows in gold.
