Landing page review, minus the encouragement

Your landing page makes sense to you because you already know what the product is. That is the entire problem, and it is not a problem you can see from the inside.

The five second question

A stranger lands on your page. They do not know your category, your competitors, or why you built it. In about five seconds they decide whether to keep reading. Almost every landing page that is not working is failing that question, not the design.

The most common failure is a headline that names a category instead of a problem. "The modern platform for team alignment" tells a stranger nothing. "Your standup notes never reach the people who missed it" tells them everything.

What gets reviewed

What your first screen actually conveys, and what it fails to. Whether the headline is a claim a competitor could not also make. What the page is asking the visitor to do, and whether that ask is proportionate to how much they trust you yet. What is on the page purely because someone once said it should be.

It reads the real page. Everything it quotes back at you came off your own site, so you can check every line of it.

Why brutal beats encouraging here

Encouraging feedback on a landing page is worse than no feedback, because it costs you the same time and leaves you where you started. The useful review is the one that names the sentence a stranger will bounce on.

The register here is dark comedy with a straight face. It will be funny about the gap between what you thought you were building and what the page says you built. Underneath the joke is a specific, checkable observation.

Questions

Do I need to sign up for the landing page review?

No. Paste the URL and read the result.

Can it review a page behind a login?

No. It reads what a stranger can read, which is the point. Paste the copy directly if the page is gated.

Can I get more than one page reviewed?

Yes, that is The Inquest at $149: five pages read and cross-examined against each other.

It takes about ten seconds and costs nothing.
